THE HAIL STORM HIT THE CROPS

Wind storm accompanied by hail storm, which last week struck the city of Nis and the surrounding places, caused great damage in the Palilula Municipality. Agricultural crops have been destroyed-wheat, vegetable crops, vineyards, fruit, broken tiles on the roofs of houses, damaged cars. The greatest damage, based on the first findings, suffered the villagers of Lalinac, Lalinske pojate, Mramor and Krusce. On this occasion, the management of City Municipality of Palilula, President of the Assembly Milan Djurdjevic and member of the Council, Milos Stojkovic, visited areas of these places that suffered the most damage. "It is expected that the responsible Commission of the City and Administration of Agriculture immediately assess the damage to this area, to provide that this area could be perceived by measures determined by Government of Serbia - Milan Djurdjevic said. We will as authority of local self government provide necessary logistic support to our farmers in repairing the damage - Djurdjevic said.
Delegation of Palilula Municipality with journalists Nis media at the entrance to the village Lalinac first visited the farm and two greenhouses of Nenad Cvetanovic, who was recently by new agro technical measures on two acres, has invested around ten thousand of euro. "Harvesting is completed, the hail storm destroyed plastic in greenhouses and outdoors were destroyed about 70 acres of plantations of pepper, which was already ready for harvest. From the lush plants remained only destroyed stem and fruit. One of the biggest producers of vegetables in this part of Serbia, Dejan Lazic, also suffered big damage. It was destroyed 2.5 hectares of potatoes, 1.5 hectare of onions, peppers, melons, whatever is planted in the open field. The storm destroyed two greenhouses-hangar that I recently set-Lazic said that since the beginning of the season in the vegetable production has invested about 1.5 million RSD. And farm of Bojan Andrejic has suffered damage. He offered to donate the entire moment of cabbage, about 2 tons, the Red Cross in Nis. It is a pity that this vegetable does not use those to whom is in this moment that necessary - Bojan said.
In the area of the village Krusce - the same picture. Looted wheat fields, fruit, vegetable products. Some farmers have already taken steps to destroy crops to plow. Vuka Nedeljkovic from Krusce said that this storm, except vegetable land destroyed and vineyards and cherry orchards. He asked relevant that when they do assessment of damage pay attention to the large number of poor people who have small plots. As a rule, Nedeljkovic says, of them almost nobody takes care, and this help bypasses them, and they feed literally their homes with their pitches. Ratomir Zdravkovic from Krusce, storm destroyed about 8 hectares of land planted with wheat. According to Tomislav Stojanovic, President of the Citizens` Council of Krusce village, on the magnitude and of damage he will inform and the competent in Agrorazvoj, with which will early of the week farmers of this area have a meeting. In the territory of the Palilula municipality is located 15 villages which rely on a narrower part of the city. According to the geographic location of these villages can be divided into two areas: the plains in the south basin of the Morava and Nisava - which is mainly represented by field crop and vegetable production and cattle farming and mountainous area, represented production of berries and stone fruit breeding and sheep-goats and sheep. Based on recently published statistics data, Palilula Municipality is by the average of income of residents, at the very bottom of the poorest municipalities in Serbia.
